NOT A SEQUEL, NOT A REMAKE, NOT BASED ON A JAPANESE ONE.
OLD SCHOOL AMERICAN HORROR.
In Theaters September 7, 2007
The most eagerly awaited Horror film of fall 2007 is the upcoming theatrical release of Adam Green’s “HATCHET”. “HATCHET” is a throwback to the classic 1980’s slasher films that creates a new Horror icon in the person of Victor Crowley. Creating a new Horror legend isn’t easy, but Adam Green has done just that with the chilling story of Victor Crowley.
Once there was a boy named Victor Crowley. He was born hideously deformed, and sadly, folks weren’t too kind to him. So he spent most of his life hidden in his Daddy’s house out in the bayou.
One Halloween night, the local children came throwing firecrackers at the house to tease and scare him. And the old Crowley house caught fire.
When Victor’s Daddy arrived home, the house was in flames. He went to the barn, grabbed himself a hatchet, and started chopping down the front door. But what he didn’t know was that Victor was pressed up against the other side, trying to get out. He hit him square in the face with that hatchet…and poor Victor Crowley died.
The old man went into mourning and became a recluse after that. Never left the house. Never spoke to anyone. He finally passed away about 10 years later.
And that’s when the stories started.
They say people tend to disappear in that swamp. And if you get close enough to the old Crowley house at night you can still hear Victor Crowley.
Still roaming in the woods.
Still crying for his Daddy.

The NMTC Presents
The Flaming Dames in BUMP & GRIND-HOUSE
The Flaming Dames, Chicago’s premiere concept burlesque show, return for their second show of the season (and 6th of the franchise). They’re gritty. They’re sexy. And they’re taking on the king of low budget B-Horror, the grindhouse movie. The Flaming Dames in Bump & Grindhouse is the Dames’ “hats off” to the grindhouse genre, resurrected by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez in their double feature, “Grindhouse.” But make no mistake, this isn’t a parody of their work, but an homage to an entire genre of B-horror and suspense films we know as grindhouse!
“We’ve got something from each category of grindhouse movie; everything from go-go strippers to German drill sergeants to vampire vixens and hot zombie chicks,” says Leslie Kerrigan, creator and director of The Flaming Dames franchise.
Kerrigan started the franchise in 2003 out of her love of burlesque and near-obsession with pop-culture. Since then, The Flaming Dames have grown to be one of Chicago’s top burlesque groups. This year, the dames are dying to return for the Flashback Weekend Chicago Horror Convention.
The Flaming Dames in Bump & Grindhouse is not only a sexy burlesque send-up of the horror and gore of the grindhouse flick, but a breakthrough venture into the use of multi-media in burlesque. Bump & Grindhouse combines Kerrigan’s trademark sexy, live choreography with horror-based videos, slide shows, photos and more—all guaranteed to tease, tantalize, shock and awe audiences throughout Chicago.
The Gore. The Grit. The Sex. The Rock. Bump & Grindhouse delivers a jolt of sexy and a tip of the G-string to the blood and guts that is the grindhouse film. With the return of two comically undead MC’s from “VAMP”, The Flaming Dames give you everything you’ve come to expect from a Halloween burlesque show.
The Flaming Dames in BUMP & GRINDHOUSE! are debuting at the Flashback Weekend Horror Convention. The Flaming Dames will be performing BUMP & GRIND-HOUSE at Flashback Weekend on Friday evening July 20, 2007 at 8:00PM.
